Prices

Okay, here's where the meat hits the griddle (you know the real saying.) Is this going to be worth your while?.

Hell, yes.

Check out how much GS1 wants to charge you for a code. They don't care if you're only putting out one or two CDs. They want you to buy at least 10 ($250) and renew it every year ($50).

But if you've just put your life in hock to come out with a CD, video, 7 inch or cassette release, their prices are WAY out of line.

But the GS1 is the only game in town, right? Do it their way, or you're locked out of all the legit distributors, retailers, Soundscan, etc.

Nope.

Here's the prices. Pay once, that's it. No further fees, no cut of your profits, no rip-offs..

One release, one format $25
Two releases, one format $45
Three releases, one format $55
Ten releases $100
Additional formats $5 for each additional format

One format would be a CD, or vinyl, or digital. So, if you have one release on CD and vinyl, it would cost $30. If you have two releases, one on CD & digital, and one just on 7 inch, it will cost $45 for the two releases and $5 for the extra digital format on release number one. You don't pay an extra $5 for the 7 inch, because each release gets its main format for free.

Why would you want to buy 10? Well, it works out to only $10 per registration, which is a bargain no matter how you look at it. This way, if you plan on releasing more product, you're covered!
